This document desribes formulas and mechanisms of evaluation used in data processing.
- BMI: [weight/kg]/([height/m]2)
- EW (Excess weight): [weight/kg] - (22.5*[height/m]2)
- % Excess Weight loss: 100*([initial_EW]-[current_EW]) / [initial_EW]
- % Excess BMI loss: 100*(([initial_BMI]-25) - ([current_BMI]-25)) / ([initial_BMI]-25)
The doctor has these options when submitting new check-up:
- particular comorbidity: worse / the same / improved / resolved;
- comorbidities in general: worse / the same / improved / some serious went off, other got better / all serious went off.
The final value on the output page represents number of patients, who has their last check-up with the desired option.
International scoring system of obesity surgery
BAROS (Bariatric Analysis and Reporting Outcome System) watches:
- progess of weight:
- weight increase: -1 point;
- weight descrease 0%-75% Excess weight: +([EW]/25) points;
- weight descrease more than 75% Excess weight: +3 points;
- comorbidities in general:
- worse: -1 point;
- the same: 0 point;
- improve: +1 point;
- some serious went off, other got better: +2 points;
- all serious went off: +3 points;
- complication:
- serious: -1 point;
- easy: -0.2 point;
- without complications: 0 point;
- reoperation:
- yes: -1 point;
- no: 0 point;
- psychological questionnaire (QoL): for each of six cathegories (self-feeling, physical activity, social, work, sex, eating) there is a range from -0.5 to +0.5 points.
The point value is assigned with appropriate word rating:
- -7 to 0 : failure;
- 0 to +1 : unsatisfying result;
- +1 to +3 : satisfying result;
- +3 to +5 : good result;
- +5 to +7 : very good result;
- +7 to +9 : excellent result.
